
The owners started in August 2006 with an idea to join forces and open a retail accessories boutique. We found a location, I helped them to negotiate the lease. They wanted some financing, I help them to find an SBA loan for their start-up capital. Since the opening of the store in December 2006, I have monitored the inventory and purchasing activity on a monthly basis, I support all of the accounting and bill payments including the payroll and quarterly tax reports.
They are now in their third year, working through some year-end planning and tax filings (with the help of a real accountant) and will be leading their effort to build out a shopping cart for a web presence. Indeed, at this point, I am their trusted advisor.
